In December 2016, I unexpectedly lost my husband, the father of my children, my best friend. I found myself raising two infants and trying to finish my doctoral program all on my own. That experience has helped shape who I am and has taught me more than any other life experience. I was sharing this story with members of a widow support group one day and it was suggested I turn it into a book.
That is how Dr. Widow was born. Under the penname Zarina Garrison, I feverishly wrote down my paralleled journey of grief for my husband and grief for the sacrifices I was making as a doctoral student. The book has been on the shelves since January 2020, and I am happy to re-release the title in 2024 with new updates and revisions. It has been shared and presented at conferences like Soaring Wings, and has become part of my coaching and speaking presentations.
Please contact me for inquiries about book readings, signings, or for single and wholesale purchases.
